Jason Gabbert is now selling some of his photography online. Personally, I think these would like great riiiiiiiiiiight above my trophy case. If I had a trophy case, that is…
Cover Story : The Living Dead

It’s not every day that you get a project like The Living Dead. Not only are several of us big zombie fans, but The Living Dead: The Beginning is George Romero’s first work of trade fiction. Jeff Miller and I were excited to get our hands dirty…bloody…what have you.
A recent project by our very own Jason Gabbert. He gives a nice write-up of the process on his blog.
Just found this original illustration again while looking through some boxes (we recently moved our studio). Connie Gabbert actually painted this with real wine! I’m eternally grateful to people who can render type like this….way beyond me.
Apparently, Borders has chosen A Reliable Wife as its January Pick of the Month. Why is this exciting, you ask? Because we did the cover! The fact that Borders picked this books is ABSOLUTELY proof that book covers sell books. Um…don’t quote me on that…
Ah, what could have been…
When a comp you love isn’t chosen (or is outright villified) it’s easy to lose heart. It happens to all of us; just take a look at Kimberly Glyder’s Shelved Books, or Henry Yee’s design blog.
In an attempt to offset the feelings of loss, we’ve added a No-Go section to our website, where the designs we loved and lost can at least be remembered.
Click here to see what might have been.

Jason Gabbert (of Whiskerino fame) has decided to bless this planet with some flippin’ sweet photography. He took a week in the fall of ‘09 to experiment with lomography, and the results are stunning. I want one for my wall. If I can’t afford that, I want 5 wallet sized prints.
You can check out more at Jason’s Flickr, as well as his website whathappensinside.
This is a series design our studio did for Sterling in NYC. The series currently has 12 titles released, but we’ve already designed lots more. You’ll just have to wait a few months to see. ;)
Connie Gabbert has a website! If this were a slightly more primitive culture, we’d be sure to throw a feast. With pork prices being what they are, I’ll just post a link.
